Basic Skiing Positions
Skiing holidays can be an intimidating. However, if you learn the basic moves to skiing, you will learn to love skiing more each time you go.
Balancing The Right Way
Stand directly over your feet with your weight distributed over your heel and toe. Rest on the balls of your feet. The front of your shins should press lightly against the boots.
The Snowplow
Everyone should know the snowplow. It can help you slow down or even control how fast you move down the hill. This move is usually the first lesson in any ski school. Point your skis towards each in a V shape and sit in a slight squat. The closer your skis are, the slower you will go. The tips should cross in the front or you will get tangled and fall down.
Moving forward
You move your weight and stand on one ski then push off. At the same time, you shift to the other ski. Shifting weight is the key to the “push-glide” technique. You should try not to lift your ski too much off the ground.
Stopping is Key
Stopping on skis (or a snowboard) can be tricky. The snowplow technique will come in useful. You will tighten the V of your skis until you come to a full stop, applying your weight to the front of each ski. It will take some leg strength.

Which holiday do you Choose?
There are few places on this planet where people cannot go. With the right documents, tourists can go just about anywhere to experience another culture and lifestyle of another country. Choosing where to go can be difficult with so many choices. If you have found yourself with this dilemma, you might want to start with a sport you love and find somewhere new to try it.
Those who surf, and are very good at it with lots of courage, can attempt the North Shore of Oahu in the winter months. Here the waves are unmatched and the faint-of-heart should just watch and admire mother nature. The southern coast of this Hawaiian island offers waves perfect for beginners and they take you all the way into shore.
For those who love to ski, why not go and appreciate the slopes in another country? Skiing in France for instance, offers the French Alps with their diversity of landscapes that are suited to intermediate and advanced skiers. They say these Alps are legendary and with so many slopes and lifts, you could not possibly undergo them all during one season. The choice is yours and you have a long list of options in front of you.

Do you keep a travel journal?
Most of us count on our memory to recall where we have been and what sites we have seen as we travel here and there. It is a fact that our brains filter out many things we encounter during the day which means we don’t recall everything we saw, heard and tasted while on holiday. This is why some people keep a travel journal and they keep it with them always.
They will take a few minutes to jot down the details of a tour, a restaurant or a historical site so they don’t forget little aspects that they found interesting or important. A journal will be great to look back on later to recall those days you first arrived at your destination that you have already forgotten.
Those who make a trip to Florida to experience the many theme parks and beach activities there will want to make a note of of what happened at Disney World and Universal Studios. They can then title it Florida Holidays and go back to read over their feelings after that roller coaster or how enjoyed their villa on the beach and the great deal they found online that made that trip the best holiday ever.

Shopping While You Travel
For many of us, one of the greatest things about a vacation is the shopping that can be involved. Even if it’s just on weekend breaks in the mountains, collecting a souvenir and bringing it back home can be one of the most satisfying parts of the trip.
You can also look up landmarks and other new areas before you go, so as to be sure not to miss the best of what your vacation has to offer. Remember, you’ll have the chance to shop where you’ve never been before, and bring back something spectacular for yourself, your friends, or your family.
Shopping while you travel can be a totally different experience than at home for another reason. When you’re out travelling, there’s no need to worry about getting the best deal, and there’s no need to shop around. Sure, you don’t want to get ripped off, so be prudent, but go ahead and indulge yourself a little bit as well. With a well planned budget, you’ll know what you can afford.
